Microsoft Enterprise Agreement FAQ

What has been updated in the Enterprise Agreement?

Microsoft is expanding its portfolio of online services offerings available through Volume Licensing to include: Microsoft Office 365, Windows IntuneTM, Windows AzureTM Platform, and Microsoft Dynamics® CRM Online, among others. The Enterprise Agreement provides the best way to license Microsoft’s on-premise software and online services within the same agreement.

Customers can enjoy the flexibility of choosing software and services for different user types, optimize technology spend to fit your IT and user needs, and streamline software compliance and asset management across all Microsoft software and services.

Note that the availability of specific online services under the Enterprise Agreement varies by offering and country over time.

How does this update impact my current Enterprise Agreement?

Your current Enterprise Agreement will not change based on this update. However, when you are interested in adding online services under the term of your current agreement, an amendment will be made available to you that will allow you to incorporate online terms with your existing agreement.

When does this update take effect?

Starting November 1, 2010, the Enterprise Agreement is being updated via an amendment to provide improved flexibility to integrate online services.

How does this update impact the Enterprise Agreement purchasing or renewal process?

We recommend that customers include the amendment during purchase or renewal to take advantage of Microsoft Online Services at any point in the future.

Are there changes to Software Assurance for Enterprise Agreement customers?

All Enterprise Agreements include Software Assurance to help you boost productivity across your organization with new software versions, deployment planning, 24x7 phone and Web support, training, and unique technologies.

While Software Assurance benefits are designed for on-premise software licenses, you can utilize the SA Deployment Planning Services to develop plans to move users to online services, in addition to planning for on-premise deployments.
